Issue Position

Investment in our children's education is the key to success in South Georgia. Every additional boy and girl with the ability to read and write creates a brighter future for themselves, their family, and their community.

Extreme cuts to Georgia's education threaten this future. Over the past ten years, the state government has cut resources to schools and furloughed teachers while expecting higher result on standardized tests. He will tirelessly fight against such cuts as our schools need these funds to succeed.

Gene believes that it does take a village to raise a child. Accordingly, Gene wants to stand as an advocate and work with local governments to encourage a stronger relationship between parents and teachers as well as schools and the community.
